How long have you been doing what you do and how did you become a Direct Selling Expert?
For 17 years I’ve been involved with the direct sales profession. I spent 14 years building my own direct sales business. We just missed the million dollar status my first year in management and then surpassed it my second year. From there, we went on to be a Circle of Excellence team 11 times, 6 at the million dollar level. In my last two years I found myself constantly coaching not only my own team, but managers of other teams too to grow their teams and improve their business. I had directors from other companies coming to me wanting to know what I was doing. That’s when I realized others really want to know how to do what I have done. I’ve watched a number of women go on to become top leaders in their company and some went on to become the #1 manager in their company because of the information I had shared with them. That’s really how I became an expert. I lived it, I taught others to do it, and I developed systems that have proven to be very effective.

Are you a consultant with a direct sales company now?
Yes. I was out of the field for 3 and a half years when I began to feel I was missing what's happening in the field. Times change and our approach to business must adapt and being away from the field kept me out of what's really current and working. In October 2009 I jumped back in and feel much more connected to my coaching clients again. I'm experiencing new learning curves and that enables me to be a better resource to my coaching clients.  I do not share with clients or my subscribers what company I am in because it is a separate business from Joy Zone. What you share as a coaching client with me is held in strict confidentiality. There is a company for everyone and not everyone belongs in the same company. And frankly, it's unethical to recruit someone away from their company.  Behavior like that is negative for the entire direct selling industry.

Who are your clients exactly?
Women who are leaders or aspire to be leaders in their business. They already know how to book, sell, and recruit and their goals are to help others do the same. They know they are ready to grow their business to new heights and need someone to help them along the way.

How are you different from other “business coaches”?
The difference is I’ve done what my clients aspire to. I’ve walked the talk, been in the trenches, and know what it’s like to stretch yourself to new limits. I delayed getting my business coaching certification because I felt like there is such a different world in direct sales from other types of business. So, as soon as the DSWA offered certification I jumped in for my Direct Sales Business Coaching Certification.

What type of personality do you work best with and what is expected of me?
I work best with people who are positive. It’s okay to have apprehension, but a desire to grow and learn go a long way toward achieving results. All behavioral styles are fun to work with. When it comes to our coaching, my expectation is that my clients hold their appointments on the dates we set and call in on time. Also, to get the most out of our time and help stay on target time wise and with goals, most of my clients have found completing a short prep form before our calls to be very helpful. In addition the prep form is a great review of what’s working, where the new challenges are, and what progress is being made. It helps with accountability.

What results can I expect?
Like any diet program, results vary based upon your commitment and desire. If you are willing to take action, you’ll find yourself reaching the goals you have set. Check out what my other coaching clients have said.

How quickly can I expect results?
This is dependent on what your goals are. If you are struggling with time-management, you may find it only takes a few weeks to see improvement with new systems in place. If your goal is to reach the million dollar status, and you’re currently at $200,000 a year, then it’s going to take a little longer to shift the momentum of your team. What you will find is coaching will take years off the learning curve of trial and error. Check out the testimonials
for more insight.

How will I recover the investment I put into coaching with you?
How much is your time worth? Personal time is invaluable. When you are working more efficiently, you’ll see your team expand and your commission checks rise. The addition of one or two new consultants on your team or the profits from one or two shows could cover the investment. Hiring a coach is not a extra, it's an investment back into your business, your consultants, your future, and yourself.

Is there a limit on the coaching period?
All clients start with three month commitment and many extend it.

I feel like I’m so busy right now, I’m not even sure I could handle a bigger team. How much time am I going to need to build my team without sacrificing my family life?
It’s all about systems and that’s the value of working with a coach. You’ll find systems that work to manage your growing team and you’ll discover you manage your time better which allows you to be more productive leaving more time for your family. The reason so many women get into direct sales is to have more time with family. Frankly, with the right systems in place, you can manage a team of 100 – 200 or more in the same amount of time, or less, than you do with a team of 10 - 20.

Okay, I’m ready to do this but I have a couple more questions. Can I call you?
Absolutely! My office number is 605-271-9663. I’d love to connect. In fact, I will personally respond to your call.
