When they have FUN! It's the number one reason that women host a show - they have fun.

Be professional- this doesn't mean stuffy! The best way to ensure the fun is to be yourself. Keep your demonstration or presentation short and simple. Involve your guests; make them feel special, important, and meet their needs. Professional means following through on what you commit to with your hostess. If you told her you would call or stop by to hostess coach, do it promptly. If you said you would call her guests to remind them, you need to do it. Place her orders right after the show so that she and her guests don't have to wait. Send a thank you postcard the day after her show, better yet - write it out in the car when you leave and drop it in the mail on the way home.

Second top reason hostesses book - they want free product!

  1. You offer your hostesses so much, but they have to know it before they can decide to take advantage of it. So TELL them! Using your booking commercials throughout your demonstration or presentation is important if you want to help customers see the value of booing for themselves.  Booking commercials begin with hostess coaching.
  2. Share the hostess credits program with her and find out which of her guests are most likely to book. Make connection for her between the cost of what she wants and how many bookings she'll need to get it free or at half-price.
  3. Teach her how to get outside orders and bookings for guests that are unable to attend. Tell her "(Name) all my hostesses get outside sales and bookings from the guests who can not attend and these add to your show totals. In fact most of my hostesses have 2 - 3 outside bookings before I even get to their show." (Unless of course your hostesses have not yet reached this - be honest!)
  4. Include at least two booking commercials in the opening of your show.
"As a hostess (Name) earns free product and tonight she has set her sights on the (item(s)) you see on page____.  When you host your show, you'll get to spend your hostess dollars on your favorite pieces too."
"I'd be remiss if I failed to point out our incredible hostess program for you to take advantage of. This month we're featuring _______."
  5. Include 6 commercials throughout your demonstration or presentation.  These should appeal to the needs of your guests and most will be rather subtle.
"If your heart is saying I want it all and your check book is telling you to limit your wish list, we need to look at a show date for you."
"There's nothing like a girls night out with (your company name) to revive us after a long week at work."
"My customers start with an order at their first show, then earn the rest of their wish list at their own get-together."
  6. If you have repeat hostesses among the guests, ask them to share how much they earned in free product, how much fun they had, or how easy it was to host a show.  Let them sell the value of hosting for you.
  7. Have the guests think of friends who were missing out on tonights fun.
"Who do you think should have been here tonight? Who is missing out on all the fun? Write their names down on (your catalog, order form, etc.) and you've got a guest list started already."
  8. Pay attention as the guests are paging through the catalog and checking out your products. This is another time to suggest the benefits of booking.
  9. ASK everyone at the order table!! If you don't ask - you don't get! Who knows, the last one you ask may be the one who decides to book!

Lastly, you get bookings when you expect them.                         Believe in yourself.
