I have walked in your shoes, lived in-the-trenches, and found what works. I asked myself those same questions and found the answer. One factor made all the difference. A coach. At first I wondered if it was worth the expense, especially since I knew what it would take and really, all I needed to do was have some discipline. But I thought it was being discipline, and my team was doing well, though not quite to the level I dreamed. With a coach, I found my business was growing, my commission checks were growing, my family was happier with me because I no longer scheduled my life around my business.

When you take steps that create a recruiting culture you’ll find many of your challenges and road blocks will disappear. Creating a recruiting culture is the means to a more productive team and to greater commission checks. It may not be about the money for you, but if it is about your family, your travel goals, getting out of debt, or your favorite charities, then you’ll need the money to attain them. As you know your business is the vehicle to those dreams.

The neat thing about direct sales is you don’t have to do it alone, you don’t have to reinvent the wheel each time you have a new goal to reach or a new challenge to overcome. As your team expands, you’ll want to put into practice a consultant tracking program that enables you to keep up with new recruits without feeling like you are short on time to do it all. With guidance from an expert who knows, you’ll have all the solutions at your fingertips. You’ll become the one others will ask, “How did you do that?”

I stumbled into direct sales, and even resisted sponsoring at the beginning. But soon after I became a Team Leader, I discovered what an impact building a business could be and then set my sights on Management.  Baby Big Bucks was the name passed down to me when I became a Manager because I was the youngest manager in the company.

In my second year of management, I remember received a check for $12,494 and realized, it was half what my teaching salary was! In one year, my team doubled in size, had the highest average order, and had the highest average sales per consultant. I won numerous awards for sales and sponsoring. My team went on to become an 11 time Circle of Excellence Unit. I even trained at our national conferences 12 times sharing all the ideas that were working with my team. The best experience I had building my business was seeing the incredible impact on the women on my team. To see so many who not only made money, provided wonderful extras for their families, replaced inflexible jobs, but also experienced such personal growth that they too became great leaders.
